  1. Im so satisfied by how each popular brand is separated by colors of the rainbow like UGHH scratches my brain just right

  3. If you need to ask that question you should just get the drill, its called a cordless drill/driver, does both. Further down the line you could add a impact driver as your carpentry skill increases and use the drill for pilot holes. saves time on changing between a drill and a bit.

  4. Drive a fastener? Impact driver.
    Drive a screw? Impact driver.
    Drill a hole? Impact driver.
    Hammer a nail? Impact driver.
    Do your taxes? Impact driver.

  5. Can you do a demonstration of using a cordless drill driver vs impact driver for drilling mild steel metal comparison from 1/16" to 5/8 or larger with the use of the same brand, same model line of the same league on 1/8" thick metal or thicker?

  6. 2:45 not true, at 4:15 the limiter 1-2-3 you mentioned adjusts the torque and not the speed, 1 being less torque and 3 more torque for driving screws, therefore avoid stripping the screw. I know this by experience.

  7. I’ve run thousands on those hinge cups with a dewalt impact and/or hammerdrill both on max and haven’t stripped 1. Seen the best guys with ryobi and crackheads with festool. Yes, better tools help efficiency, but custom work is completely on the user.

  8. I have all the Bosch 12v stuff and I use the drill with the chuck 95 percent of the time. A real chuck holes everything and drill bits do not wobbly like they do with impact drivers. I would always get a drill first impact 2nd. For certain jobs like deck screws impacts can be better. I purchased a 3rd party chuck for my impact and use it when ever I have to drill with it.

  9. Am I the only one who wanted to see them hook together, and let’s see which one was gonna last the Longest???

  10. "Love this video—your editing and storytelling are top-notch! I’ve been exploring [2:30] on my channel too; farming life has so many perspectives!"

  11. Great video!
I know nothing about drilling or driving. I just wanted to buy a small machine that could help me drill holes in the concrete wall and then I came across your video.
    Explained really well!!!
    Thanks a lot man!

  12. Thanks, I was wondering about this. Have used a great Bosche battery drill for about 30 years (and it’s still going strong) for everything. Couldn’t be happier with it, but then, I don’t know what I’m missing with the latest technology. I’d rather not know.

  13. Just bought a set with an impact driver yesterday, as I’d never used one, I went to YT and found this video. Easy to understand for a very novice DIY’er like myself. Liked and subbed!

  14. The biggest plus for an impact driver for me is the fact that they are so much easier on your hand & wrist. When drilling with a drill bit, your hand & wrist take the majority of the torque to keep the drill bit engaging. The larger the bit, the more force it takes to keep drilling. With a driver, the torque used to drive the drill bit comes from the driver. There is very little torque going to your hand & wrist. A good example is to take a powerful 3/4" drill and try drilling a 3/4" hole through a 10" pole. Then take a good impact driver powerful enough to drill a 3/4" bit through that same 10" pole and feel the difference.

  15. I used a drill/driver for about 20 years before I got a new impact & drill/driver. I thought I’d use the drill about 90% of the time and the impact 10%.

After using the impact a few times, I changed to using the impact about 90% of the time. It’s a very handy tool.

  16. Watching this as someone with a fine touch wondering why so many people use impact drivers for sensitive tasks… my conclusion is that it’s because they haven’t watched this vid 😂

  17. I bought a chuck that is for my impact driver, it works very well for drilling with my impact driver and it will accept any kind of drill bit, it doesn’t matter if it has a hex end on it,
The only downside is that it does increase the length of the tool but the convenience makes that inconsequential for the most part!
The shaft on the chuck is got the hex pattern and it makes it very easy to install and take off when it is not needed!
Since I am on a fixed income, and I am not able to get a drill at this time, it is a very good tool for me!
The cost for this chuck was about $20 dollars, and I don’t have to buy anything else!
I am able to use my drill bits that I have had for years, and that is a great help!
The other difference is that, as you pointed out is that I don’t have all the features of a drill but I can work around that with a little common sense! If I am drilling a large hole with a large bit, I just go as slow as possible, and if I am going through something like a piece of steel, I will drill a starter hole with a smaller bit and then increase the size of bit in increments until it is the right size!
That also doesn’t make the tool work so hard or get so hot! And that definitely saves the battery life!
And the chuck has a keyless feature, which is a great way to change bits often! And I don’t have to think about where I put the keys!

  18. Honestly for regular home owners who only need this stuff every once in a while, having an impact driver is the way to go. It can do everything, even tho it doesnt do a lot of things well. A drill on the other hand is useless if u need to drive a large screw into a stud.

  19. great informative video! i didn’t understand the boat wheel bit until you showed the mechanism, so that was very helpful. i was a bit unclear about 11:00 vs 13:14 as you mention the impact driver for most holes, but then later say start with the drill and finish with the impact driver. is the material impacting (zing!) the choice, or is there something else that determines the order?

  20. If you’re sanding or buffing hard plastic, like a Headlight, would you leave it on first gear or second gear? I’m using a regular brushless Dewalt drill.

  21. I used to be a Makita guy but then my grandpa used to shame me for touching his tools and I switched to DeWalt just to have a different brand loyalty than him to piss him off.
